Key note for blog
View more presentations from coreenabean.
I used Keynote instead of powerpoint as I have a mac. The transitions and music I added with Keynote didn't come through with slideshare. I will investigate this further and chase up some tech help to add a talking audio mp3 file.
Slideshare can be used privately allowing a teacher to make something for their students only and vice versa. It can also be made public, allowing students to present their work to the world. You can join groups with slideshare on topics of interest, add your presentations to blogs and web-sites.
Hi Coreena, I think that you have to upload sound files separately when you use slide share, this may have happen to you. I love these beautiful pictures, is it narrated?
ReplyDeleteHi Coreena,
ReplyDeleteI really liked your slideshare presentation. My grandson loves it and is always asking me to put on the turtle show for him.
I used Audacity for my narration audio file and converted the file with an additional piece of free software called Lame to convert the file to MP3. This additional software is on the Audacity website. Both software programs are free and I found them very easy to use. I notice that it states Mac as being compatible for downloading. When you save your narration file you don't go to save but export, it then Lame automatically converts the file to MP3 ready to upload. I hope this helps if you are having problems.
Cheers
Meryl
Hi Coreena,
ReplyDeleteI love your slide show, even without the sound. I too, had the same issue and lost all automated macros including sounds when uploading via SlideShare. Given that there is thousands of high quality PowerPoint presentations online, I believe that their are other more effective programs that allow direct uploads; however, this may come at a cost. If you ever find an eaier way, please share this info with me. I will recipricate the offer.
Your blog looks very professional. Very inspiring.
Kindest regards,
Peter Spencer
Hi Coreena,
ReplyDeleteYour slide show was very interesting. It has shown me how the to use Slideshare, as when I went through and looked at the site and reading material I was unable to upload and have a play around with it. My computer doesnt allow the internet at the moment and I am in the current stages of looking at getting it fixed.
It is also great to see that your slide show has touched someone of a younger age, i.e. Meryls Grandson. I think its wonderful when something we do touches children of all ages, even if it was intended for a specific age group.
Well Done :)

Thank you everyone for your helpful suggestions! I will give them a try this week. Thanks also for your comments. It's very encouraging.
ReplyDeleteCheers, Coreena
Hi Coreena, when I first viewed this slide show you were yet to upload the sound file. I think the music you have chosen has made the presentation more engaging and represents the seriousness of your message.
ReplyDeleteGreat work,
Sara :)
